               Biography

1945  Born in Padua, Italy on July 9. Lives and works in Padua till in the middle 90's, after he moves to the United States where now lives in Winter Park, Florida.

1961  Excited by the family atmosphere, and inspired by father Alfonso, also a good painter and mother Mimma, who possessed a strong interest in operas, he develops his passion for fine arts and enrolls at the State Art Institute P. Selvatico in Padua.  

The same year, he takes part in his first group exhibition (ENAL, Padua), followed by many other group and extemporary shows for youths. The next year, he prepares his first solo exhibition.

1963 At the same time he begins to play the drums with the band called “I Solitari”: a confraternity that will last for more than 10 years.

1964  The diligent participation in the artistic life of Padua stimulates and involves him in a long series of groups, competitions and important experiences, enriching his painting evolution. Among the groups: Arte Triveneta, Padova; Abano Terme; Galleria d’arte “Pro Padova”; Palazzo della Ragione”, Padova; Bottega d’Arte, Venezia; Pettenon, San Martino di Lupari, Padova.  Competitions: Citta’ di Castello,Trento; Citta’ di Abano; Citta’ di Montagnana; Citta’ di Campobasso; Citta’ di Fiesole, Firenze; Premio Agna, Padova.

1968  He enrolls at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, attending the cultural environment in Venice with artists and critics of international renown, drawing new and important impetus for his artistic growth. During this period he participated in numerous exhibitions including: Galleria d’arte “Pro Padova”; Galleria d’arte “Ca’ Rezzonico”, Venezia; Galleria d’arte “Caleidoscopio”, Padova; Pedrocchi,  Padova; Pittori Veneti - Arte Teleuropa, Roma;  Galleria d’arte “Venezuela”, Padova.





























































































2008 He is invited to show his paintings in a solo art exhibition         organized by the City Hall in Padua, his hometown. The month         long “Through illusive atmospheres” exhibition is acclaimed by         thousands of viewers as one of the best ever done by the City          Hall. The media highlighted the event with excellent reviews.

2009 Prepares a solo exhibition at the Seminole State College, in the gallery located in the Art Department where he is still teaching art. Exhibits at the annual Fine Arts Faculty at SSC. Continues the regular group exhibitions with Arts on Douglas, and Miniature exhibition - Arts on Douglas.

In December he travels to Italy to receive a Galileo Galilei medal and a gold medal of honor from his hometown for his achievement in the arts and his social and civil efforts in Italy and the U.S.  The awards are the highest honor anyone from Padua can receive.


1970  While continuing to maintain contact with local artists, he journeys to Switzerland, where he stays for several months painting and exposing some of his works at the  'Manuar' gallery in the city of La Chaux de Fonds.

1971  Later, he was invited by the Italian Consulate of Neuchatel for a solo exhibition of his works. Other solos include: Galleria d’arte “Villa Vanna”, Padova; Galleria d’arte “Girasole”, Camposampiero. Significant reviews in Gazzettino di Padova and Mattino di Padova. Group exhibitions: Bevilacqua la Masa, Venezia; Galleria d’arte “Ca’ Rezzonico”, Venezia.

1972  He graduates from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and then acquires the qualification to teach as a registered Art Professor.

1973  Exhibits his work in a solo show at the art gallery “La Roggia”, Pordenone. The same year begins teaching “painting” at the State Art School “Selvatico” in Padua where he holds the position for about 20 years, followed by 5 years at the State Art Institute “Modigliani “ also in Padova.

1974-1981 He also actively continues his artistic activity with solo and group exhibitions including: solos; Galleria d’arte “Sartori”, Padova; Galleria d’arte “La Cupola”, Padova.

Groups: Galleria d’arte “La Scacchiera”, Padova; Galleria d’arte ”Ciruzzi”; Quadriennale d’arte di Roma; “Centro d’Arte edizioni CDE”, Padova; Galleria civica, Padova; Rassegna d’Arte delle tre Venezie-La Bulesca, Padova; “Artisti Contemporanei”, Strigno.  Competitions: internazionale “Gran premio dei giovani” – 1st  premio, Belluno; “Tezze sul Brenta” 2nd premio, Vicenza; “Giovani Pittori al Porticato” – 1st  premio, Padova; “Giorgione” – 1st premio, Cervarese S.C. For these exhibitions has received flattering reviews on many newspapers and magazines. Recall among others: Il Prisma, La Specola, La Vernice, il Gazzettino di Padova, il Resto del Carlino.

Additionally, and of great importance, is the article published on “Arte 2000” by Prof. Giorgio Segato.     

1982  He produces  the  official Manifesto and Poster for  Pope John Paul II’s visit in Padova. Performs the covers of “Messagero of San Antonio” (7 editions) dedicated to the beatification of Maximilian Kolbe and also the cover of the Official Biography. He is the author of the canvas depicting Maximilian Kolbe placed in the Arciconfraternita Chapel in Saint Anthony church in Padova and of the one donated to Pope John Paul II on the occasion of His visit to Padova. He painted in fresco technique the 14 stations of the Via Crucis  for a church in the state of Malawi.  Several articles were published on local and national magazines  that  highlighted the versatility and  the wise work of interpretation and realization of his  works: L’Osservatore Romano, il volume edito dal Centro di Comunicazioni sociali di  Padova e il Messaggero di S.Antonio,  Periodico trimestrale della Provincia, Il Gazzettino e il Mattino di Padova, all the extra editions of Messaggero di S.Antonio. At the same time he works on religious painting commissions and continues his personal pictorial research with several exhibitions including: solos: Galleria d’arte “La Cupola”, Padova; Galleria d’arte “Sartori”, Padova; Galleria d’arte “Selearte”, Padova. Competitions: “Citta’ di Vicenza” -  2nd prize; “Giovani Pittori” -  2nd prize, Verona.  

1984  He travels to the United States of America for the first time, remaining   fascinated by the dynamism of the great metropolis visited: New York, San Francisco, Miami and Chicago. In Chicago  he has contacts with local artists and is  involved in various exhibitions, which  grow his  interest to settle in the United States. Exhibition: Art Festival “Festa Italiana” – Olive Park, Chicago / IL; Galleria Campanile, Chicago; Fresco Workshop - Italian Cultural Society, Chicago.  In Chicago he was also commissioned to create a portrait of President Ronald Reagan.


1985-1995 Teaches painting courses for the city hall of Padova and private courses at Centro ZIP in Padova. He continues his artistic commitment in Italian with other significant exhibitions. Solos: Galleria d’arte “La Cupola”, Padova; Galleria d’arte “Sartori”, Padova.  He begins to prepare and organize his work for the United States.

2000  Begins the collaboration with major Florida Designers for the design and execution of frescoes and paintings on walls and ceilings in public and private buildings, continues teaching painting courses at Crealde School of Art, two fresco Workshops for Art League of Daytona Beach and Arts on Douglas in New Smyrna Beach. Solo at the Harris House of Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach.

2001  Teaches painting at the University of Central Florida; holds two workshops of fresco painting and Renaissance paintings, one at Cornell Museum and the second at Rollins College in Winter Park. Invited by the Italian Consul Giuseppe Morabito exhibits, at the Consulate General of Italy in Miami, 50 of his paintings in a prestigious solo exhibition. Receives from the Mayor of the City of Miami a certificate of career recognition. Significant press-cutting agency  in local and international newspapers: Il Mattino di Padova, il Gazzettino di Padova, Orlando Sentinel, The Daily Journal, il Giornale Italo Americano of Florida.  He joins the group of artists represented by the gallery Arts on Douglas with which begins a permanent collaboration characterized by periodic group and solo exhibitions.

2002  Teaches painting at the University of Central Florida. Participates to Altamonte Springs Art Festival winning the first prize and the solo 'Italy, life in I style', Winter Park.

2003  Finalist in the Art in State Buildings Project , obtains  the acquisition of one  canvas for the permanent collection of' University of Central Florida, Orlando. Joins  the following exhibitions: Florida Artist Registry Members Exhibition; Art Show “The Lofts”, Winter Park; Past Perfect Sale; Red, White and Blue; Artists in Academia, Arts on Douglas.  Solo: “Italia, life in I style” -  second edition, Winter Park.

2004 Prepares an important solo exhibition “The Corazzina Chapel” at Arts on Douglas. The press highlighted the event with excellent reviews: Gazzettino di Padova, Smyrna Breeze, Orlando Sentinel, Orlando Weekly. Group: Miniature exhibition - Arts on Douglas.

2005  Holds a conference on the fresco painting technique followed by a Fresco Workshop at Seminole Community College, Sanford, FL; continues the regular group exhibitions with Arts on Douglas following dictated topics: :  “Scenes of the City”, “Exploring the Other Dimension”, Miniature Exhibition.

2006   Begins the teaching of Design and Drawing at Seminole Community College, Sanford. Prepares another important solo exhibit at Arts on Douglas: “Dream Bag”. Several articles in specialized newspapers and magazines: Il Gazzettino di Padova, Il Giornale Italo Americano of Florida, Smyrna Breeze, Hometown News, NSB, The Daily Journal, The Observer. Groups shows:  the “Fine Arts Faculty Exhibition”-SCC, “Urban Iconography”- Arts on Douglas.

2007-2008 Continues teaching Design and Drawing at Seminole CC.  Exhibits at the annual  Fine Arts Faculty at SCC.  Holds the second Fresco Workshop at Seminole College.


2010 Prepares a solo exhibition “Under the same sky” at Mount Dora Arts Center, Florida. Begins teaching Fresco painting class at SSC (the only class of its kind in Florida)

Exhibits at the annual Fine Arts Faculty at SSC. Continues the regular group exhibitions with Arts on Douglas, and Miniature exhibition - Arts on Douglas.

2011 Exhibits at the annual Fine Arts Faculty at SSC. Continues the regular group exhibitions with Arts on Douglas, and Miniature exhibition - Arts on Douglas.

2012 Continues teaching Fresco, Design, and Drawing at Seminole SSC.  Takes part in a group exhibition (Yesterday, Today         and Tomorrow) at the UCF art gallery. Continues the regular group exhibitions with Arts on Douglas.

          He is commissioned a painting for the SSC Foundation for “Celebration of Giving”.

2013 Prepares another important solo exhibit at Arts on Douglas: “Angels and Demons”. Continues teaching Fresco, Design, and Drawing at Seminole SSC. Continues the regular group exhibitions with Arts on Douglas, and Miniature exhibition - Arts on Douglas. Exhibits at the annual Fine Arts Faculty at SSC.

2014-2015  Commissioned ceiling paintings in private buildings. Painted the scenography for SSC Theatre.

Continues teaching Fresco, Design, and Drawing at Seminole SSC. Continues the regular group exhibitions with Arts on Douglas, and Miniature exhibition - Arts on Douglas. Exhibits at the annual Fine Arts Faculty at SSC.
